Heyr Himna Smidur- A Classic Christian Hymn from Iceland

Here is a set of videos showcasing a hauntingly beautiful hymn from Iceland titled: Heyr Himna Smidur (Hear O Smith of the Heavens). It was composed in the 12th Century A.D. by Kolbeinn Tumason who was an Icelandic chieftain. I’ve included a video with an English translation as well as a rendition of the hymn by Eivor Palsdottir (a singer from the Faroe Islands) and Frostrosir (a group of musicians in Iceland). I hope that it’ll inspire in us a deeper love for our Lord Jesus Christ and God/G-d our Heavenly Creator. May all Glory be given to Christ Jesus who reigns over all Nations and Creation! Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be unto ages of ages. Amen!

Rejoice for the Ephiphany of the Christ has been made manifest this day!

In honour of our Lord Jesus Christ’s Epiphany (Manifestation) that is celebrated this day particularly among Chalcedonian and Non-Chalcedonian Orthodox Christians of the East as well as Catholics (both Western-Rite and Eastern-Rite) I’ve posted a couple of videos with Hymns commemorating the Feast of Epiphany. Let us meditate upon that most glorious and wonderful Mystery that is the Epiphany and Incarnation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Messiah. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit! Glory be to Jesus the Theanthropos, the Ladder of our Salvation! Glory be to Him who is the Son of David, the Son of Man, The Ancient of Days who was manifest upon earth in the flesh out of pure love for mankind! Glory be to you O Lord who art the Supreme Divine Lover of Humanity and All Creation! Hallelujah! Amen!

Merry Christmas to one and all, rejoice for our Saviour the Christ is born this day!

Merry Christmas to one and all! Let us share the love of Christ as we rejoice while all the while meditating upon the Divine Mysteries of our Lord’s Advent and Incarnation that rescued our captive world from the snares of Sin and Death. Hosanna to the Son of David, the King of Kings who did not shun the Crown of Thorns to save His Creation. Hallelujah to Christ Jesus the Lover of Humanity and Life!
