To know God is to know who you truly are!

To know God one must not merely refer to sacred scriptures but one must also know the character of God/G-d and must have a clear understanding of his/her identity in God. The paradigm of God in creating us is that the Lord imparted upon humanity His divine Image (Imago Dei in Latin). This image is wholly seen in Jesus the Christ in whom the true prototype of humanity is found, hence Jesus is also called the Theanthropos (God-Man in Greek). Now while we may not possess Divinity in the same sense as Christ Jesus, it is true that Jesus is the Icon (image) of the true identity and essence of humanity as God created it to be. This is clearly reflected in Scripture when Christ says: “He who has seen me has seen the Father” as well as the First Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians where Paul says: So as in Adam all die so also in Christ all will be made alive.” Christ Jesus is the New Adam and is the Model of who we are and who we are meant to be. Hence it must be said that when we realize that we all are sons and daughters of the most High God, then we truly begin to know God and our relationship with our Creator deepens. Hope, Love, Compassion, Nonviolence, Peace, Truth,Justice,Charity and so many other ideals and virtues remain mere rhetoric no longer and instead become tangible realities. Let us all then remember who we truly are in God’s eyes, and truly truly I say unto you that the Kingdom of Heaven shall be made manifest. Let these words remain etched in our memory as we await the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and the New Jerusalem that He shall inaugurate, Amen!
