THE RIVER WALK

Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.

Lincoln, Jesus

Relate: He was too tall. He wasn’t all that good looking. He was socially awkward. He had almost no formal education. His fashion sense was nonexistent. He didn’t know how to handle himself in polite society. He was divisive. These were just a few of the many complaints his contemporaries had about him. He led the nation during its greatest crisis and nearly everyone felt that Mr Lincoln was the wrong man for the job. Nearly everyone was wrong.
